The MAT Campaign – Trigger Posters

Year of Publication: 2025

The MAT WA BODE campaign, meaning “MAT for Strength/Health,” is an initiative designed to prioritize People Who Inject Drugs (PWIDs) as a key audience in preventing the spread of HIV. With a message of hope, the campaign also emphasizes MAT AKOLA—”MAT Works”—inspiring those seeking to quit drugs and rebuild their lives. Recognizing the unique needs of both “Ghetto” and “Corporate” PWIDs, the campaign addresses common drivers of drug use while tailoring solutions to overcome specific barriers, including stigma, which is more pronounced among corporate PWIDs.

Through trigger messages and materials, the campaign highlights the benefits of Medically Assisted Therapy (MAT): it’s free, quick, and helps counter withdrawal effects. MAT not only restores health but also boosts productivity, fosters family reconciliation, and positions individuals as responsible contributors to society. Supporting tools include trigger posters, counseling FAQs, fact sheets, flyers, testimonials, and engaging TV commercials, all designed to drive awareness and uptake of this service.
