Time Up HIV-The journey to ending HIV in Uganda

Year of Publication: 2024

The video describes the strides that Uganda has made in fighting the HIV epidemic since the first case was discovered in the country, in 1982 on the shores of Lake Victoria. It provides details about the statistics of HIV in the country, the demographics of the most-at-risk populations, and how science has made the fight against HIV/AIDS much easier compared to when the disease was first discovered in the country. Additionally, the video contains a few testimonies of people living with HIV, their journey towards viral load suppressions, the challenges they have faced along the journey and how they have overcome them. The video is also part of the broader “Time Up HIV” campaign, which aims at reducing new HIV infections and increasing the proportion of PLHIV adhering to HIV treatment guidelines.
