Webinar schedule
The series will feature 3 webinars each focusing on building connections and driving impact to trigger lasting behavioral shifts.
DATE: To be Communicated
This webinar will highlight the evolution from traditional Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) methods to holistic, cross sectoral Social and Behavior Change (SBC) approaches. This shift, from merely influencing individual behaviors to transforming systemic and social structures, leveraging the entire SBC ecosystem. Attendees will gain insights into how SBCA used human-centered design (HCD) as part of its cross-sectoral stakeholder engagement in the development of three widely successful initiatives, the Provider Behaviour Change Toolkit and BOLD and Let’s Change Our Stories campaigns which unify health, education, gender, and law enforcement for broader societal impact.
Embracing Unconventional Creativity and Innovation:
Transforming Social and Behavior Change
DATE: To be Communicated
During this webinar, we spotlight SBCA’s groundbreaking methods that empowered communities to create culturally resonant, sustainable health interventions. This session will explore how SBCA’s adaptive strategies during the COVID 19 and Ebola crises achieved impressive outcomes, such as increased vaccination rates and outbreak containment, even amid restrictions. Additionally, we’ll delve into the innovative Real Kool HIV campaign, which redefined youth engagement through relatable messaging, achieving wide-reaching impact and community buy-in. By combining HCD with creative multisectoral collaboration, these campaigns exemplify the power of SBC in addressing urgent health challenges and reshaping norms.
Focusing on the “S” in SBC:
Shifting Social Norms for Lasting Change
DATE:To be Communicated
In this third and final webinar of the series, we explore how SBC is transforming health outcomes by addressing social determinants and challenging the underlying norms that shape community behaviors. Through a community centered approach, SBC works to address systemic barriers such as gender inequality and limited access to healthcare. By engaging influential community gatekeepers and fostering multisectoral collaboration, SBC empowers Ugandan communities to lead lasting change in areas, such as maternal and child health, family planning, and malaria prevention. This session also highlights the vital role of social norms in sustaining impactful, community-driven health improvements across Uganda.
